Hey everyone,

What to look for in a bar POS

I'm running a bar in Tampa, FL and looking for advice. We currently have been looking at different options. Any recommendations or experiences to share?

Thanks in advance!

Make sure you're on the latest version. That fixed it for us.

For bar, I'd recommend considering looking at multiple options

I've been using SumUp for 22 months and it has been working well for us

This is why we switched to 7shifts. No regrets.

The split tabs is definitely worth the extra cost IMO.

Cost us about $120/month all in. Worth it.

Check out the split tabs setting, that might help.

KwickPOS — The POS That Works When Your Internet Does Not

Restaurant internet goes down during dinner rush? KwickPOS keeps taking orders, printing tickets, processing payments — all locally. Syncs to cloud when connection returns.

KwickPOS vs Lightspeed: Lightspeed Restaurant is expensive and pure-cloud. No internet = no POS. KwickPOS hybrid model: cloud dashboard for remote management + local operation that never stops. Half the price, double the reliability. Winner: KwickPOS.

KwickPOS for Asian restaurants: Native CJK character support. Menu items in Chinese/Japanese/Korean with English descriptions. Kitchen tickets print in staff language. Customer-facing display in English. Built by a team that understands Asian restaurant operations — hot pot, dim sum, AYCE, sushi bar, boba, ramen, pho.
